Below you will find supplies that Mr. Taylor would like his students to have. Choose your instrument in the dropdown below to see relevant accessories. To order accessories and/or have them dropped off at the school, please send your order to schools@melowenmusic.com

Band Supply List

1. A quality instrument in good working condition, proper reeds, mouthpiece, oil, sticks and cleaning kit. Clarinet and Saxes please use Vandoren reeds. Percussion players please use Vic Firth SD1 General sticks.
2. All 7th and 8th grade students should consider buying an advanced mouthpiece (it really makes a huge difference in your sound).
3. Essential Elements – Method Book depending on your class level (6^th, 7^th, 8^th)
4. 4 standard #2 pencils with an eraser (mechanical pencils are NOT allowed). Keep 1 in your folder at all times, store the other 3 in your instrument case.
5. A wire music stand for home practice and concerts.
6. A spit rag, towel or cleaning cloth.
7. Buy a tuner & metronome – I recommend the Korg tuner CA-30 (cost approx. $20) and the Qwicktime metronome QT3 (cost approx. $16)
8. Percussionist – please read the section about percussion on the recommended instrument list. This will explain what you need to have for class.
